Join CRS and our host, the Lawrence Hall of Science (the Hall), for an afternoon of learning and fun. Our Field Trip for Teachers is designed to be your chance explore the Hall and meet a gecko up close, try an engineering challenge, and even more that your students could do on a field trip. You'll also be able to talk with Hall educators about great resources to support science learning in your classroom, from supporting english language learners in science to supporting you with NGSS.

Following our program, teachers will be welcome to stay for the Educator Open House. CRS member special preview and behind the scenes event: 4 pm -5:30; LHS Educator Open House from 5:30 - 8:00 PM

4:00-4:20 Network and light refreshments

4:20 - Greetings and Introductions

4:30-5:20 Lawrence Hall of Science educators will have special experiences set up for us that will demonstrate of the elements of their workshops available during field trips or in your classroom. This is a great chance to chat with LHS staff about the ways they incorporate the new science standard (NGSS) practices and English Language Learning techniques into their program and do some science yourself. We'll also get to learn about some of the professional development opportunities that Lawrence Hall has to offer.

5:20 Reflection and Door Prizes

5:30 Join a behind the scenes tour of the teaching labs and exhibits before exploring the Design Quest, Science on a Sphere and the rest of the offerings of the Lawrence Hall of Science Educator's Night.

5:30 - 8:00 Lawrence Hall of Science is open to teachers to play and explore. Learn about curriculum materials, enrichment for students, and professional development programs that support NGSS.Explore exhibits, including the newest edition of Design Quest—the Hall's home-grown engineering experience! Do hands-on activities, and experience Science On a Sphere® demonstrations that help students understand the connection of global systems like weather, climate, and ocean currents.


No printed tickets are needed. If you RSVP here with CRS, you do NOT need to RSVP for the LHS educator night that follows our Field Trip for Teachers.
